To celebrate the 4th birthday of The 39 Steps in the West End, the producers in association with Vintage Patisserie, Marquis Vodka and Vintage Secret, hosted a vintage themed tea party in the Criterion Theatre's Greene Bar after the evening's performance on Thursday 9 September 2010. Guests were encouraged to wear their finest vintage outfits and immerse themselves in the glamorous proceedings while Vintage Secret setup their infamous hat, glove and scarf bar, allowing those who hadn't come prepared to dress up in various period pieces including evening gowns, cravats and bow ties, tweed jackets, silk dressing gowns and false moustaches. The bar was decorated with all the trappings of a 1930s birthday party and a delicious spread of cucumber sandwiches and vintage sweets was laid out. Vintage Patisserie, who recently featured on Dragons' Den, supplied the delicious The 39 Steps cakes, while Marquis Vodka provided tea cocktails for the evening which were served from vintage teapots.
